Biostatistics
SCRI’s Biostatistics team is a multidisciplinary group that delivers end-to-end statistical expertise in clinical trials, real-world evidence, and health outcomes research to support high-quality, practice-changing healthcare research.
The Team
Our SCRI’s Biostatistics team is a multidisciplinary group of biostatisticians who support the entire clinical research lifecycle, from rigorous study design to analysis, reporting, and knowledge translation.

Working closely with clinical teams across specialties — including oncology, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, and eye care — our Biostatistics team enhances the quality and reproducibility of evidence, enabling practice-changing research and evidence-based patient care. We also build capacity through consultations and hands-on workshops for clinicians and students on study design, analysis, and grant writing.
Competencies
Our team’s core expertise lies in clinical trials, real-world evidence (RWE), and health outcomes research. We have extensive experience supporting a wide range of studies, including multinational cluster-randomised trials of community-based interventions for hypertension, adaptive vaccine trials in infectious diseases, large multicentre late-phase oncology trials, medical device intervention trials in diabetes, and paediatric ophthalmology therapeutic trials.
For real-world evidence studies, our team has applied advanced analytical methods such as mediation analysis and inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW). Our team comprises members with backgrounds in health services research and includes contributors who are part of the EuroQol Group.
The team provides the following support for clinical trials:

Track Record
Our team has provided statistical support to over 150 studies. Here's what the collaborators have to say about us:
It has been a pleasure working with the SCRI's Biostatistics team on the various Asian Myeloma Network (AMN) projects. They have been helpful and responsive and works closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on the analysis, taking things from design all the way through the conference presentation, and eventual manuscript submission and revision. Their expertise is greatly valued by the AMN team.— Prof Chng Wee Joo, Group Chief Scientist, National University Health System (NUHS)

SCRI's Biostatistics team is truly outstanding. SCRI has the best biostatistics team in Singapore and has helped the Aspirin in dukes C and high-risk dukes B colorectal cancer (ASCOLT) study develop our protocols, summarise and clean data, and do the hard number crunching, in statistical analysis and preparing all the reports. All of us in the ASCOLT team are grateful and indebted to SCRI biostatisticians, for making the trial a success.— Dr John Chia Whay Kuang, Medical Oncologist, Curie Oncology

It has been great working with SCRI over the years. Nice to be able to depend on them for good advice - from study design, sample size calculations, randomisation, data management, monitoring, to final analysis and report. Always efficient and professional.— Assoc Prof Audrey Chia, Head and Senior Consultant, Paediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Strabismus Department, Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC)

SCRI's Biostatistics team was a pleasure to work with. The team provided immense statistical support on our multi-site randomised controlled trial, including handling complex continuous glucose monitoring data and working through medication titration data. Communication went well for data analyses and the work produced was always to a high quality and on time. I will not hesitate to call again on the team's help for projects in the future.— Dr Daphne Gardner, Senior Consultant in Endocrinology, Singapore General Hospital
