Real-World Evidence
Evidence drawn from care as it is actually delivered: analysis of electronic medical records, disease registries and administrative data.
Much of what we need to know about care is already recorded — in hospital systems, in disease registries, and in administrative data held nationally. Turning that record into evidence is a discipline in itself: knowing what the data can and cannot support, preparing and linking it, and framing questions it can actually answer.
What we work with
Real-world data: We work with a wide range of real-world data sources, including electronic medical records, disease registries, administrative databases, and other routinely collected healthcare data. Our expertise spans data assessment, curation, linkage, and analysis, enabling the generation of robust evidence on patient outcomes, treatment effectiveness, healthcare utilisation, and service delivery in routine practice.
The methodological foundations common to all projects, including study design, protocol development, statistical analysis planning, data review, dataset preparation, analysis, and publication support, are described under Project Collaboration.

Our work in practice
INSIGHT — The INSIGHT study was an investigator initiated, multi-site longitudinal cohort study conducted to reflect real-world epidemiology and clinical practice in Asia Pacific in the immediate 7-year period, by Prof Pierce Chow, after the conclusion of the BRIDGE study. SCRI has supported protocol development, statistical analysis and the manuscript, with the publication: Real-World Data on the Diagnosis, Treatment, and Management of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in the Asia-Pacific: The INSIGHT Study (Sirn et al., Liver Cancer, 2023). The 2nd paper is under journal review.
