Congratulations to our inaugural batch of graduates of the CRC Level 2 Programme

Some 20 senior Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs) completed the inaugural CRC Level 2 Programme organised by the Singapore Clinical Research Institute Academy (SCRI Academy) in July 2021.

Held virtually over five days, this intermediate level course equips senior CRCs with project management skills and the ability to coordinate investigator-initiated clinical research studies across a range of study designs.

CRCs play a pivotal role in supporting clinical trials and strengthen the clinical trial landscape in Singapore. As the national academic clinical research organisation dedicated to enhancing the standards of human clinical research, SCRI and its training arm SCRI Academy oversees the learning and development of this critical talent pool.

The CRC Level 1 Programme was first launched in 2018 and is designed for junior CRCs as a comprehensive introduction to coordinating clinical research trials from beginning to end. To complement the well-received CRC Level 1 Programme, SCRI Academy developed the CRC Level 2 Programme to cater to the training needs of intermediate CRCs.

The CRC Level 2 Programme attendees learnt what are some of the best practices in managing clinical research studies from speakers in the local public healthcare institutes and biopharmaceutical industry. They also reinforced their CRC skills through virtual classroom discussions, case scenarios and practice-based activities to help them better understand and apply the key operational principles shared during the course.

“I learnt a lot about project management – from initiation, start up, preparation to budgeting – as well as the monitoring and inspection aspects of coordinating a clinical trial. The course was really useful for my work,” said one attendee.
