Dr. Mungun-Ulzii Khurelbaatar is a leading figure in Mongolian cardiology. After graduating from medical school in 2004, he pursued a Master of Science and cardiology training at National Yang Ming University and Taipei Hospital in Taiwan. Since 2007, he has been serving at the Third State Central Hospital as a cardiologist, where he advanced his expertise in interventional cardiology and arrhythmia management through training in Germany and Taiwan.
A graduate of the Diploma of Advanced Studies in Cardiac Arrhythmia Management (DAS-CAM), Dr. Khurelbaatar pioneered Mongolia’s first cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) therapy programs, including pacemaker, ICD, CRT, and CCM implantation. He also spearheaded the establishment of Mongolia’s first Electrophysiology (EP) laboratory, marking a milestone in national cardiac care.
Committed to capacity building, he trained the first generation of Mongolian arrhythmia specialists and founded the Cardiac Rhythmology Center. As Director of the National Cardiovascular Center and President of the Mongolian Society of Cardiologists, Dr. Khurelbaatar continues to lead transformative developments in cardiovascular care and education.
