Dr. Indah Sukmawati
Dr. Indah Sukmawati is a consultant interventional cardiologist at Siloam Hospitals Lippo Village, Indonesia, and a faculty member at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pelita Harapan. She obtained her medical and cardiology degrees from Universitas Airlangga and completed advanced interventional cardiology training at the National University Heart Centre Singapore, supported by the Chien Foundation Educational Grant. She also completed international observerships at the Cleveland Clinic (USA) and the National Heart Centre Singapore.
Her clinical expertise spans coronary intervention and heart failure management, with a strong commitment to integrated care pathways and education. Dr. Sukmawati has spearheaded the development of patient-centered heart failure education programs and contributed to the conceptualisation of acute coronary syndrome care protocols at her institution.
Dr. Sukmawati is actively involved in academic publishing and cardiovascular education. As Head of the Book Publishing Division for the Indonesian Heart Association–Banten Chapter, she has overseen the publication of over 30 books. She has also authored and edited multiple titles targeting both healthcare professionals and the public.
Internationally, she is a certified peer reviewer for JACC: Case Reports, BMJ Case Reports, and Publons Academy, and serves as a social media consultant for cardiology journals. She was part of the first cohort of the JACC Peer Review Mentoring Program and received first place in the Global Women in Cardiology–European Heart Journal Case Report Competition in 2021.
Her current work focuses on the intersection of clinical excellence, cardiovascular education, and leadership in interventional cardiology across Southeast Asia.
