Prof Richard Troughton

Dr Richard Troughton is a Professor in Medicine at the University of Otago, Christchurch. Since 2009 he has been the co-lead for clinical research at the Christchurch Heart institute. He is also a clinical cardiologist at Christchurch hospital with sub-specialty interests in Heart Failure and Cardiac Imaging.

His research interests include evaluating the role of new and established biomarkers in diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease and participating in clinical trials evaluating novel therapies for heart failure and cardiovascular disease.
