Dr Alan Fong is Consultant Cardiologist at Sarawak Heart Centre, and Head of the Clinical Research Centre, Sarawak General Hospital (CRC SGH). He is involved in pharmaceutical, medical device and medical diagnostics research and development; and with CRC SGH, involved in the conducting the first First-in-Human clinical trial in Malaysia. He is national lead for a number of multicentre international clinical trials. He maintains an active role with the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, initially as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board, and then as Associate Editor of the Journal of Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology.

Dr Fong is also the President of the National Heart Association of Malaysia (2021-2026) and Chair of the Global Heart Attack Treatment Initiative (2023-2025) of the American College of Cardiology.
