Profile

She received training in Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Hull Royal Infirmary Hospitals. Throughout her career, she held an academic position at the University of Medicine 1 & 2 since 1982 and eventually retired as a Professor and the Head of the Medicine Department at the University of Medicine 2, North Okkalapa General Hospital in 2014. After retirement, she continued her medical practice at private hospitals, including Bahosi Hospital and Grand Hantha International Hospital.

Furthermore, she assumed the role of President of MSEM and successfully organized the AFES 2017 Congress in Myanmar while she took the role of the president of Myanmar Society of Endocrine and metabolism (MSEM) . Her particular areas of expertise are in Diabetology, Thyroidology, and common endocrine disorders in Myanmar apart from internal medicine as a whole. She is now taking the role of President of Myanmar Diabetes Association (MMDA). She has authored numerous scientific papers, review articles, and case reports in the field of endocrinology, as well as general medicine, published in both national (MMJ) and international journals, JAFES, Journal of Social health and Diabetes, and is currently an Associate editor in JAFES.

Additionally, she has authored Health Education books in the Myanmar language, focusing on Diabetes and General Medicine.
