Yit Yang has been a full time consultant ophthalmologist and retinal specialist at Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary where he provides services in retina, uveitis, general ophthalmology and cataract surgery but is also actively involved in research on a wide range topics in retinal imaging and clinical trials and retinal services research. He has been involved as PI on over 50 clinical trials and has published over a hundred peer reviewed papers. He has also collaborated with several universities on basic science research in ophthalmology and vision science and has been a visiting professor at the nearby Aston University since 2008. He is supported by a small but very effective clinical research team comprising of consultant colleagues, nurses, optometrist, imaging technicians and administrative staff. He also has a strong interest in education and frequently contributes to teaching events on retina imaging, diagnosis and therapy.
