Members Introductory Meeting - February 2025
The ASPIRE Network marked a significant milestone with its first introductory meeting, bringing together members from across the APAC region in a virtual setting. During this foundational gathering, participants shared their diverse research interests and engaged in productive discussions about network governance and operational frameworks. The meeting concluded with members collaboratively mapping out potential next steps to advance the Network's objectives.
Network Launch at the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology 2025 - April 2025
The ASPIRE Network was launched at the APSC 2025 in Busan, South Korea followed with a networking session. This initiative aims to connect key opinion leaders to advance cardiovascular research across the APAC region.
Led by representatives from CADENCE and SCRI, alongside inaugural ASPIRE Network Chairperson, Prof Derek Hausenloy, the session brought together cardiologists from research institutes and healthcare systems across Australia, Indonesia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan.
Network Dinner Meeting in Madrid - August 2025
Members of the ASPIRE Network came together for an in-person meeting to discuss project directions such as heart failure, AMI registry networks as well as potential collaborations with partners in Asia. Meaningful connections were forged during a dinner get-together afterwards.
ASPIRE Programme at the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology (APSC) Congress 2026
The ASPIRE Network will host our joint session on "Clinical research collaborations across the Asia Pacific Region" at the APSC Congress on 15 May 2026.
The programme features ASPIRE members / regional speakers sharing insights on regional collaboration: Prof Satoshi Yasuda discussing APAC collaborations in acute myocardial infarction, Dr Diana Foo exploring heart failure research with AI-enabled echocardiography, Prof Kyung Woo Park addressing ethnic differences in antiplatelet therapy, and Prof Mark Richards sharing the NZ-SG companion clinical cohorts experience.
Our distinguished panel includes experts from South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Thailand, representing the breadth of cardiovascular expertise across our network.
