Live Interview on First Look Asia by Channel NewsAsia on World Diabetes Day

Our CEO, Associate Professor Teoh Yee Leong and Endocrinologist, Dr Daniel Wai Chun Hang from Mount Elizabeth Hospital were featured ‘LIVE’ on First Look Asia by Channel NewsAsia at 8.45 a.m on World Diabetes Day, 14 November 2016.


During the 2-hour daily breakfast programme, both shared more on the tripartite partnership involved in the development of the anti-diabetic drug, DAA-I.  Associate Professor Teoh elaborated on how DAA-I’s action is different from current treatment as well as risk factors that contribute to the rise of diabetes in the region.

Dr Daniel Wai also shared more on the disease aspect of diabetes. He highlighted how DAA-I drug has an advantage over current treatment due to DAA-I’s mode of action.  In addition, the interview also focused on how the development of the drugs is an example of Singapore’s involvement in high quality clinical research that ultimately benefits Asian patients, and how partnerships between different entities contribute to Singapore’s role as a research hub in Asia.
