Dr Sjakon George Tahija is the Founder and Medical Director of KMN Eyecare, a national chain of eye-clinics in Indonesia, where he also serves as Vitreo-Retinal Consultant and Surgeon at one of the clinics.
After completing his residency in ophthalmology at University of Indonesia, he attended a vitreoretinal fellowship under Professor Ian Constable at Lion's Eye Institute.
Since 2006, he has pioneered the use of anti-VEGF in the treatment of neonates with Aggressive Posterior Retinopathy of Prematurity (APROP) and published the results.
He has also initiated, organized and chaired a biennial international event for Ophthalmologists in Bali, called BIOR (The Bali Ophthalmology Review).
