Dr. Eng is a Consultant Endocrinologist at the National University Hospital (NUH) and the clinical lead for postpartum gestational diabetes (GDM) care for women. She is trained in Endocrinology at Imperial College London (UK) and had a PhD in reproductive endocrinology. Her main interests are in reversing metabolic disorders in women. She is a recipient of NMRC grant where she investigates the mechanistic pathways underlying insulin resistance and insulin secretion in women with prior GDM in the postpartum period.
Her broader research interests include determining rate of adrenal recovery following prolonged glucocorticoid therapy, with a focus on steroid tapering and weaning strategies. Clinically, she provides comprehensive care for both men and women with diabetes and a wide range of endocrine disorders, with a particular emphasis on metabolic conditions affecting women.
