Evidence Synthesis

SCRI’s evidence synthesis experts carry out collaborative primary research, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and support the production of evidence-based Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Ministry of Health.

The following Evidence Synthesis expertise is provided:

  • Conduct of official Cochrane collaboration reviewer training for evidence synthesis  and the use of the RevMan software,
  • Help in the writing of official Cochrane systematic reviews,
  • Conduct systematic reviews of published evidence for project feasibility studies and guidelines development,
  • Conduct methodological research in evidence quantification and synthesis,
  • Conduct lectures, seminars and workshops in systematic reviews and meta-analysis.

The Singapore Branch of the Australasian Cochrane Centre was established in 2005 to support the Cochrane Collaboration activities in the South-East Asian region. Since its foundation the Singapore Cochrane Branch has been directed by Dr Edwin Chan Shih-Yen.

The Singapore Branch hosted the 17th Cochrane Colloquium in October 2009. This international annual meeting of the Cochrane Collaboration and trail-blazing international conference on evidence-based healthcare, was held for the first time in Asia.
