SCRI’s research consultation clinics are conducted by the Biostatistics and Epidemiology teams to cater to general research queries. These include providing advice and guidance on study design, analysis approaches, research grant applications and scientific publications.
Specific advice and guidance includes:
- Review the design and analysis sections of the grant application or proposal,
- Study design,
- Calculation of sample size,
- Suggestions on randomisation / sampling methods,
- Design of data collection forms,
- Database design,
- Data cleaning and how to deal with missing data,
- Statistical analysis methods,
- Use of statistical packages, e.g., SPSS,
- Scientific publication.
The clinics run for approximately one hour and are conducted both in-house and on-site.
